ROLE: Founding Full Stack Engineer

Company: Ecliptic, a ski and snowboard community app.

Overview: Ecliptic is looking for a full-stack software developer fluent in Typescript and React along with Python that have built scalable systems to handle millions of requests per second. We are an early stage, mobile first company. We expect candidates interested in the role to have experience optimizing web-native languages for iOS and Android along with creating functional interfaces. At the end of the day, we don’t expect you to have all the skills presented here, but the seeds and willingness to learn and grow with us!

Location: We are only open to candidates who can join the founding team to work in-person in the Los Angeles Area. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Maintain Scalable Systems: Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable systems that can manage millions of requests per second.

• Full-Stack Development: Utilize your expertise in TypeScript, React, and Python to develop robust front-end and back-end solutions utilizing our hybrid SQL/NoSQL DB approach.

• Mobile Optimization: Optimize web-native languages for mobile platforms, ensuring seamless performance on both iOS and Android.

• Collaborative Development: Work closely with CTO/Co-Founder of Ecliptic to design and develop innovative features and solutions.

• Continuous Learning: Embrace a product growth mindset, continually learning and applying new technologies and best practices that are solely focused on improving the experience of our customer. 

• Support: You will support our customers and partners by troubleshooting any of their issues.

Qualifications:

• Technical Proficiency: strong experience developing consumer facing applications

• Scalability Experience: Proven experience in building and maintaining scalable systems.

• Mobile Optimization: Knowledge of optimizing web-native languages for mobile platforms.

• UI/UX Skills: Ability to create functional and intuitive user interfaces.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Team Player: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

You Are A Fit If:

• Have independently built and scaled a product to at least a few thousand users (e.g. a side project, a service at a company, an open source repository, etc…)

• Have worked in a high-growth, fast-paced environment (ideally another startup) and can drive things forward with relatively little oversight

• Have a passion for skiing, snowboarding, or another individually judged sport or activity

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other programming languages and frameworks, mainly Swift and Java

• Knowledge of cloud services and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
